What on Earth does that blog title mean you say? Well, I've decided to have a go at my very own '365 project'. Yep, a photo a day for the next year. No archives allowed, each day will be a fresh photo.  That it coincides with the New Year for 2011 is something of a happenstance as I am not a big believer in New Year's resolutions per se. Moreover it just felt right.  Expect a large mix of iPhone photos, shots from my projects, travels and good ol' fun photography.  So here we go, enjoy and subscribe to my blog via your favorite RSS reader and keep up as I intend to push myself into new boundaries this year and see what my creativity can do.

So my parents came out from Indiana last week for a few days to visit and we went looking for a new adventure.  Our typical routine of hitting Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, hiking and shopping at McGuckin Hardware was getting a bit played out.  So whilst we were enjoying a tasty breakfast at Le Peep, we watched skyward as gliders from Mile High Gliders in Boulder fluttered about in the cool morning air searching for thermals.  My Dad and I looked at each other and instantly decided our next move.  Gliding!

As a commercial pilot with more than a few thousand hours in the logbook, taking a glider ride is one of several things in aviation that I had yet to do.  So the excitement was palpable and we were ready to go! Needless to say the experience was amazing and I very much look forward to gliding again soon.  I didn't bring the camera along on the glider ride but did manage a few fun shots.  I loved this shot of the tow plane about to go to work and tow my Dad & his instructor up, up and away.
