Ok, so these two Ferraris are not going fast in this picture but they sure have the capability to do so! This was taken in Prague in September of last year. We heard them reverberating from several blocks away due to the acoustics of the tight spaces on the Prague streets. I got my camera out just in time to get this quick photo. Enjoy!
The Memorial of Jan Palach
Jan Palach was a Czech student who was part of a movement to protest the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. He signed a suicide pact with other students to protest the invasion by the Soviets. Although he was one of the few who actually went through with the pact, his death set off a flurry of anti-Soviet activity over the next two decades. Finally in 1989 during 'Jan Palach Week', the demonstrations escalated and were one of the catalysts for the fall of the communism soon after. This memorial lies in Wencelas Square in current day Prague, Czech Republic. It never ceases to amaze me the things I have come across in my travels. I hope you enjoy this picture and it's significant part in history...
Backcountry beauty!
So I recently turned the big 3-0 and went on a backcountry hut trip with friends to celebrate. Turned out to be a bit of adventure with taking the wrong trail, breaking new trail and finishing up in the dark! Here are few of my favorites from the trip... My friend Jon enjoying the day!
The sign that should have clued us in that we were going the wrong way!
Nothing like a warm fire after a long day on the cold trail.
Peaceful outside, fun party inside!
Whiskey by candlelight.
The next morning, what a sight!
Nothing quite as peaceful as being in the middle of the wilderness at over 10,000' feet!
Breakfast is served!
Tubing is fun!
Getting some air!
Snowshoe fun on the way down!
Goodbye Aspen!
Thanks for looking!
