I was up in Vancouver recently, unfortunately weeks after the Winter Olympics had already ended. I did manage to get out of the hotel for a bit and explore around. One of my favorite pics so far is from a dogwood tree I found nearby that was in full bloom already. I am probably allergic to it, but nonetheless a pretty tree and fun shot :)
HDR Prague
For my first post of the New Year [yes I am slow] I figured I would start with a refreshed picture from Prague, Czech Republic in 2008. I took another crack at editing it with an HDR finish. I will readily admit I not the biggest fan of HDR imagery, but when done right I think it can really add depth and style to certain images. Typically the sky is vastly improved with an HDR finish and better mimics the dramatic sky that was present at the time since it cannot always be captured in camera. This is one of my first attempts at HDR, so be nice ok? Enjoy!
¡Viva España!
So after a busy summer of shooting weddings Ali and I took a much needed vacation to the south coast of Spain in September, we pretty much did nothing but relax and swim in the Mediterranean. We did explore around Nerja a bit, although the picture taking was somewhat limited due to the large amount of time spent on the sand :) As soon as we got back from Spain we shot another gorgeous mountain wedding, so I have been busy working on those photos and finally made time to put some vacation photos up. So please enjoy a few from around Nerja & Malaga Spain...
San Francisco
One of the perks of my job is getting to spend some time in some great places. Recently I had a long San Francisco layover, so I thought I would bring the camera along and do some shooting as well as some scouting for future trips. I doubted I could get any truly wonderful shots on this trip since I was traveling quite light with my D40x and 18-50 Sigma F/2.8 and a gorilla pod. But I went out on a mission nonetheless and had a great day getting to know the city. I ended up with 7 miles worth of walking on the legs that day, and some decent shots along with some great ideas for next time I am in town! Here you go... Pier 7 near downtown.
Pier 7 once again looking back toward downtown and Transamerica Pyramid. I liked the couple walking leisurely walking away and just enjoying the morning as I was.
One more from Pier 7, lots of opportunities here! Some locals were already out and getting some fresh fish for the day.
I wonder if the bird wishes he could make contrails sometimes.
Don't get much of a chance to see many blooming flowers just yet in Colorado!
Being from the Midwest originally and now living in Colorado, I haven't spent much time around boats and maritime activities. I am always fascinated by coastal cities!
Tools of the trade.
And I thought Colorado had some steep hills ;)
Chinatown goodies.
Fish anyone?
Chinatown offers no shortage of shooting opportunities. I look forward to getting back and exploring more!
Waiting for the train.
